Christopher Rush is one of the original 25 arts that contributed art to the original set. His significant contributions include 1996 World Champion, Black Lotus, Lightning Bolt, Brass Man, All Hallow's Eve, Brainstorm, Eron the Relentless, Ishan's Shade, Rathai Dragon, and Mana Leak.

He also designed the mana symbols and the back of the card with Jesper Myrfors.

In work outside MTG, he contributed work for Gary Games/Stoneblade Entertainment, Nintendo, and other commercial properties in mainly the book publishing industry. His most significant piece outside MTG is Promo Mewtwo done for Nintendo Power's April 2000's issue, making him the first non-Japanese artist to contribute work for the Pokemon TCG up to that point in time.

He died of a heart attack in his Florida home on February 10th, 2016, two days after fellow artist Wayne England.
